Wild Rift: Wild Circuit Asia Invitational to feature eight teams, US$40k prize pool
Even if League of Legends: Wild Rift Icons has already concluded with China's Nova Esports being crowned as the first-ever Wild Rift champions, developer Riot Games still has something in store for the offseason.
The Wild Circuit 2022 was announced as the official offseason Wild Rift tournament for Brazil, China, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, Korea, and Japan.
The Wild Circuit Asia Invitational 2022 might be just the thing for Southeast Asian fans looking to see more of their favourite teams compete professionally.
This offseason tournament aims to keep fans interested while they wait for the official Wild Rift esports season to begin next year.
The tournament will feature eight teams directly invited from Leagues in Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea, competing for the title and the Lion’s share of US$40,000.
This may also be part of Wild Rift’s answer to creating “more trophy opportunities” and opportunities for Wild Rift pro players to compete.
Wild Rift esports director Leo Faria mentioned this in his interview with Yahoo Esports SEA last July, where he said that the most challenging but most important was giving the already existing teams worldwide more opportunities to play against each other.
Prize Pool
The total prize pool of US$40,000 will be distributed as follows:
1st place: US$12,000
2nd place: US$7,000
3rd place: US$6,000
4th place: US$5,000
5th - 8th place: US$2,500 each

Kwangdong Freecs (South Korea)
Liiv SANDBOX (Korea)
Unsold Stuff Gaming (Japan)
RRQ PH (Philippines)
Flash Wolves (Masters, Taiwan)
Team Flash (Vietnam)
Buriram United (Thailand)
The tournament will be held online with a live broadcast for fans to watch. The Group Stage commences on 5 September and concludes on 7 September. This will be followed by the Playoffs on 8-9 September.
