SINGAPORE — Two days after winning her first SEA Games gold after debuting in 2015, Singapore shooter Teh Xiu Hong got her second when the women's 10m air pistol team clinched top spot at the Hanoi National Sport Training Center on Friday (20 May).

The 28-year-old teamed up with 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Teo Shun Xie and Amanda Mak to amass a score of 1,697, narrowly pipping the Vietnam team who totalled 1,695. Thailand claimed the bronze medal with a score of 1,687.

Teh had posted a score of 567 during the qualifiers, placing her first out of 21 shooters to qualify for the individual final. Teo had also qualified with a score of 566 which placed her sixth.

However, both of them fell out of contention in the final, as Malaysia's Nurul Syasya Nadiah Arifin won the gold.

Teh had won the women's 25m pistol individual event on Wednesday, Singapore's first shooting gold since 2017. Before this Games, she had won three silvers and one bronze in the pistol events.

Singapore's Martina Veloso also clinched a bronze medal in the women's 50m rifle three positions event on Friday. The former Commonwealth gold medallist scored 435.0 points to finish behind gold winner Thao Phi Thanh of Vietnam (451.1 points) and second-placed Ratchadaporn Plengsaengthong (444.0 points).
