Dota 2: TI11 Last Chance Qualifier to feature Group Stage, double-elimination Playoffs
The format for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) for Dota 2's The International 11 (TI11) has been revealed.
The LCQ, taking place in Singapore from 8 to 12 October, will begin with a Group Stage that will determine seeding for a double-elimination Playoff bracket, where two teams will earn the last two spots in TI11's Group Stage.
The TI11 LCQ Group Stage will split the 12 participating teams into two groups of six teams each and will follow a round-robin format with best-of-two matches. The Top 4 teams from each group will advance to the upper bracket of the Playoffs while the bottom two teams will have to start from the lower bracket.
The TI11 LCQ Playoffs will be a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. There will be no grand finals, as the winners of the upper bracket finals and the lower bracket finals will qualify for TI11's Group Stage.
The LCQ is one of the big changes introduced by Dota 2 developer Valve Software to the revamped TI format for TI11.
The TI11 LCQ will feature the second and third-placed teams from the tournament's main regional qualifiers fighting for the last two spots in the Group Stage.
The teams in the LCQ include Team Secret and Team Liquid from Western Europe, Vici Gaming and Xtreme Gaming from China, Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere from Eastern Europe, Polaris Esports and T1 from Southeast Asia, Nouns Esports and Wildcard Gaming from North America, as well as Infamous and Tempest from South America.
The groupings for the LCQ Group Stage are as follows:

The LCQ Group Stage will take place from 8 to 9 October while the Playoffs will be held from 10 to 12 October.
All LCQ matches will be broadcasted live on the official Twitch and YouTube channels of organiser PGL.
TI11 is this year's iteration of Dota 2's annual world championship tournament with a multimillion-dollar prize pool. The event will be hosted in Singapore from 8 to 30 October and features a revamped format with the new LCQ and a longer schedule.
